The final phase of any music production is the mixing and mastering. While it might be wise to leave the mastering to a specialised studio, you can easily do the mixing yourself provided that instead of hifi speakers, you use more accurate and neutral-sounding studio monitors. These let you adjust the tonal colour of the mix based on a pure and transparent signal. With the Eikon Series active studio monitors, Proel have managed to create more-than-solid, mix-ready monitors that feature ample connection options and great sound in exchange for only a modest investment. You can set up two of them for stereo sound, but you can even go with five for a full surround configuration. Either way, the separately available EK10SW is the perfect bass-reproducing partner for this EK5NF 5-inch monitor which, on its own, goes as low as 55 Hz for a frequency response that can handle pretty much any flavour of pop music.
